Just like all young adults my interest and pursuits have changed as I've grown older. From childhood I have been fascinated by flight and wanted to pursue a career as a pilot in the Air Force. I was lucky enough to receive a congressional recommendation from Congressman Max Sandlin, but my ACT scores weren't to the standards of the Academy. After the disappointment of not being accepted I applied to Spartan College of Aeronautics. I would have been able to receive the same pilot's license, but it was a huge financial obligation.
My freshman year I declared criminal justice as my major, but I might as well have been undecided because I didn't know what I wanted to do. I started working at a country club as a bartender and I soon found my calling. I love the service industry and I plan on receiving my hospitality degree in the next few years.
