I am from Pakistan and I immigrated to the U.S about 5 years ago. I have noticed that Pakistan immigration is still going on till this day. People have heard how well people are doing in the U.S so they've applied for a visa and started immigrating. There are many unique contributions they've made and there are also a variety of reasons why they came.
There was a war between Pakistan and Bangladesh. People lost their homes, money and stores. There was also a war between Pakistan and India for a land called Kashmir. It still is going on. People came around the 1970's but more towards the 1980's. They couldn't come earlier because law restricted it. The reasons they came to America were America had a well-structured government, a good education for the kids which is one of the many reasons my parents came and more career opportunities in which
there were good wages. My parents also came to start their own business and have a fresh new start. Many other people left Pakistan because government problems, wars as stated above, not enough money to make a living and not a good enough education system. Also the population growth is extremely high in which it was hard to get around.
Pakistan people not only came here for their own personal reasons but they came and made unique contributions to the U.S such as they have taught people Islamic heritage, made many restaurants with Pakistani food, made Pakistani stores in which it has Pakistani supplies and goods. They have opened jewelry stores, and fast food
restaurants. Our cultural influences such as Islamic holidays like Eid-ul-Fitr, and Eid-ul-Azha are celebrated
