Based on the facts, and only the facts, theres really no evidence of marijuana being deadly, or of it impairing someone any more than alcohold does. And despite all the myths telling how harmful and dangerous this drug is, theres always a fact to contradict it. This is not a pro-marijuana paper, this is a pro-marijuana legalization paper. Is not meant to convince people that marijuana is the right, or cool thing to do, just to prove that it is injustly outlawed, and that to vote "no" on the legalization of it is placing a moral judgement where a legislatice one is called for.

Now, to prove why it should be leglaized, we must first go back and see why it was outlawed in first place. The use of marijuana was perfectly legal until the 1900s. After the Mexican revolution occurred

some time in the 1910s or so, many immigrants spilled over the Mexican border meaning to find a better life in the United States, but after a while, jobs and welfare became scarce and they returned to Mexico, and because they had smoked the plant they took it to Mexico, Mexicans are not to blame for the outlawing of marijuana, because it was outlawed not because of Mexicans using it, but Mormons. Mormoms who traveled to mexico came back with marijuana to salt lake city, and the church was not pleased by it. And since the state of Utah abided their laws by what the church said, they established a prohibiton over the drug in 1915. Soon after that many states followed with the marijuana prohibition laws. In eastern states, the use of it was attributed to latin americans and black jazz musicians because they made it part of their music scene, racism was a big part of the charges against it. Another rumor created to promote the banning of marijuana was that of the "assassins", people who were given large doses of the drug to catch a glimpse of what awaited for them after they successfully

completed their mission. And so within a short time, marijuana usage was linked to violent behavior
