As a full time college student with a full time job, I see the need for these services for numerous reasons. I need the Internet for not only my job and school related day-to-day tasks but also for speed, since my days are spent juggling such a busy schedule. With the combined service of IO cable and optimum online, I am able to pay one bill a month and have very fast access to a variety of things at any time convenient for me. For people with my schedule, these types of services create ease in ones life, however they can also cause a financial burden. If the Media goes through with passing laws forbidding states from setting up networks available to those without sufficient funds, the public will have a harder time with accessibility to certain things and interests that are provided by these technologies. It's convenient to have these commodities in the household but if one cannot afford these technologies, libraries and other places have been set up where these types of services are available for low-income individuals. Without these services for one who does not have a decent salary, how can they perform certain tasks on time and correctly without access to do so? If these media companies earn the rights to do what they want, they themselves need to at least provide cheaper rates for people who want, lets say, cable but can't afford the new "digital cable." So as a public advocate, I can say that as much as I like the services there is a problem with media companies holding exclusive rights with these technologies to the public at hand.

In a country where equal opportunity is given, I feel low-income families and students should have easier access to these services. All Americans, regardless of their economic status, need these types of services
