The Piano Lesson

The artist's motivation in the artwork "The Piano Lesson" is to enforce the typical atmosphere in which a person practices the piano on. In America the movies that involve a character playing a piano typically have the scenery the author has displayed in his painting "The Piano Lesson." In the art work, the character is practicing the piano in calm scenery. The windows are open to an atmosphere of plainness. In addition, the artist made sure that the only character that would be involved in the painting would be the one playing the piano to show the quietness one needs to focus on the piano.

The type of art expression expressed in this art work is representational. Previously, I stated that the art work represented the typical atmosphere of a human being playing a piano. The windows are open to an atmosphere of calmness. The author did not place drama in the background
