1. Prostitution
In southern California you don't hear t much about prostitution. Prostitution is mainly kept secret in America society. I believe the reason for this is because prostitution is considered degrading to women. Years ago prostitution was more accepted even though prostitutes were still considered lower class. Since then, women began to have more rights and able to work in any profession, selling their bodies became less and less. In America we are now debating on if prostitution should be legalized. This is a really hard issue to debate being that we live in a country of freedom.
Our countries laws are based on the Christian religion which makes it hard not to be one sided. One of the negative impacts on prostitution becoming legalized is that if it was, more and more young girls would turn to it as means of living. Prostitution would turn more women to focus on their body than their minds. Being that America is so sexually uneducated; a lot of young women involved would contact diseases. Prostitution becoming legalized would also affect the way young men think of women. Men do not have enough respect for women as it is so just imagine what legalizing prostitution would do. There would be a lot more broken homes because men would be more tempted to cheat.
One positive impact about legalizing prostitution is that many prostitutes would be able to proceed on in their lives in this legal activity. Prostitutes would no longer have to hide in order to make their money.
