School Safety

A lot of people wonder if schools are safe. I know they would like to believe that schools are safe, but schools are not safe. No matter what the schools do they can't make themselves completely violence free.

Some schools, like private schools, think they make a difference and they do but only a little bit. They can set a dress code and make harsh rules against violence and name calling, but if someone gets mad usually something bad will happen. Just like in The Chocolate War Where one of the morals of the story is corruption happens everywhere -- and its true. Jerry goes to a private school and still gets bullied in and out of school. Kids may not get bullied as bad at most schools , but at some schools it is worse.

Every school has at least one bully, and bullies are most of the problem with school violence. Whether it is ridiculing or throwing punches, bullies will find a way to bring a person down. Then there is the students who are sick of being bullied or just depressed. These kids may resort to a school shooting.

People think that school shooters can be profiled, but they can't. They are just random people. When a school shooting occurs, someone generally someone knew the shooting was going to happen. Some of the most well-known school shootings or bombings would be The Columbine Shooting where two students walked in school and shot multiple students and later shot themselves. The Oklahoma Bombing where a Federal building was bombed which housed a daycare. Recently The Amish School Shooting where a man walked in released the boys and shot the girls and then shot himself. Whether by accident like the daycare center or on purpose like the other two, school safety is just something impossible to accomplish. One of the most common acts of school
