1) The dates of the Italian Renaissance were between 1350 to around 1550.

2) Renaissance means rebirth

3) The Renaissance began in Tuscany, Italy and was started because they believed that they had witnessed a rebirth of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds.

4) Three characteristics of the Renaissance are that it was largely an urban society, the Renaissance was an age of recovery from the disasters of the fourteenth century such as plague, and a final characteristic of the Renaissance is a new view of human beings emerged as people in the Italian Renaissance began to emphasize individual ability.

5) The Renaissance affected ordinary people by giving them a new view on life and how to treat others in this different era.

6) Girolamo Saronarola began to be rule to Florence by condemning the corruption and excesses of the Medici family. He lost power because of his strict regulations on gambling, horse-racing, swearing, painting, music, and books.

7) Rome was sacked in 1527 because of what was going on in the church at the time. Such as; invading, bloodshed and looting, church officials were sold as slaves, and the destruction of the church.

8) Machiavelli's ideas of political power were different from writers in the Middle Ages by him thinking that a prince's attitude toward power must be based on an understanding of human nature, which he believed was basically self-centered.

9) Examples of Casttiglione's perfect Renaissance noble were; a noble was born, not made. He was expected to have character, grace, and talent, the perfect noble had to develop two basic kills, and finally they had to perform physical and military exercises.

10) a- The role of the father was being the center of the Italian family. He gave it his name, managed all finances, and made the decisions that determined his children's lives.

b- The role of the mother was simply to supervise the household.

c- The role of the child was nothing until the became adults when their fathers went before a judge to determine
