Slumdog Millionaire is a movie about love, and overcoming obstacles. An impoverished young man won a fortune on a game show by using his life events as a guide. The film centres around two brothers and a girl, and the ways in which they lose and find each other. Jamal Malik, an 18 year old orphan from the slums of Mumbai. He experienced the biggest day of his life when he was given the chance to compete on the television show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.” Jamal answered all of the questions right throughout the whole show. The show authorities thought Jamal somehow cheated on the show. They believe he knew the answers to the questions asked. He was put into jail, where he was beaten and tortured by Police.

He struggled to escape his “Slumdog” lot in life and had difficulty risking his own life to be with his love. He also had to fight with the crime lord, who kidnapped Latika. Jamal and his brother Malik also had major conflict towards the end of the movie regarding latika.
