The Titanic

The Titanic departed the morning of April 12, 1912, 84 years ago from the time the movie was filmed. A fortune hunter, Brock Lovett searching for a priceless treasure where the Titanic had sank, found nothing except drawings and a few accessories. An announcement on TV prompted one of the last survivors of the Titanic, Rose DeWitt Bukater to contact Brock. She stated she was the woman in the drawing. He made an arrangement for her to come onto his boat.

Brock and his crew gave a forensic analysis of how the ship sank but Rose explained the true experience was very much different. Rose started to tell the story of Titanic, just as she lived it: “I can still smell the fresh paint,” says Rose “The china had never been used, and the sheets have never been slept in” Titanic was called the ship of dreams and it was; it really was. As the old Rose looked into the shipwreck, she was taking back to the moment in time when she came out of a very luxurious antique car with a beautiful white suit-dress with black stripes and a purple hat. For Rose, Titanic was just a slave ship. ”Outside, I was everything a well brought up girl should be, but inside I was screaming,” said Rose.

As passengers boarded the ship, Jack Dawson and his friend Fabrizio were trying to win a hand of poker and won their tickets. They were so ecstatic that they almost missed the ship. Titanic was the biggest ship ever made. The other boats next to the Titanic appeared to be like small birds. It was breathtaking and truly eye catching to see the Titanic on the ocean.

That afternoon, Rose was having lunch with her mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, her wealthy fiancй, Caledon Hockley, Mr. Thomas Andrew, the shipbuilder, Mr. Bruce Ismay, a businessman and Molly Brown, known to history as "The Unsinkable Molly Brown." While the conversation at the table went on, Rose was thinking that no one cared or even noticed her. She felt overwhelmed and walked out. As she got a breath of fresh air, she glanced over and saw Jack. They made their first eye contact. Later that night, Rose was having dinner and was still feeling pressured, angry and desperate; she decided to end her life. As she was about to jump from the ship, Jack intervened and saved her life.

Saturday, April 13, the following afternoon, it was a beautiful and sunny day as Jack and Rose took a stroll on the upper deck, they were talking and Rose became very annoyed with Jack probing into her personal life. Rose had requested him to leave the deck; however, Rose noticed the portfolio Jack was holding and was curious to know what it was. After looking at the portfolio, Rose commented on Jack’s drawing and was impressed with the way Jack sees people. Rose wishes she could be more like him, carefree. During the course of this conversation, Rose and Jack felt a mutual attraction.

Jack accepted an invitation from Cal to join the first class for dinner as a token of appreciation for saving Rose’s life; however, Jack did not have the proper attire. Molly Brown offered Jack her son’s tuxedo. That night, Jack was standing at the bottom of the First Class grand staircase, when Rose saw him she was amazed at how handsome he looked. The dining saloon was full of elegantly dressed people and beautiful music was playing. When they were seated at the dinner table, one could see the beautiful setting of shiny crystal glasses, the exquisite china and the polished silverware.

After dinner, Jack declined an invitation to the cigar room with the men and decided to return to the third class. Before going back, he secretly gave Rose a note to meet him by the clock of the grand staircase. They went to the third class gathering and danced through the night. The next morning Cal was upset and let Rose know that he did not tolerate her improper behavior.

Jack attempted to speak with Rose during a church service; nonetheless, he was turned away by one of the crewmen. After the service, Rose, Ruth, Cal and Mr. Andrew went to the first class deck for a stroll. When Jack saw Rose, he immediately pulled her away without anyone’s notice. Jack expressed his feelings to Rose and told her “if you jump, I jump.” Jack said that he would not be able to let it go until he knew she would be safe and happy. In her sad voice, Rose told Jack that she loved Cal and that she would marry him.

Rose was having tea with her mom and two acquaintances. She saw a mother at the next table correcting her daughter on her posture and the way she should hold a teacup. Rose realized she did not want to live that life. Rose left the tea room and went to see Jack on the deck and from there Jack led her to the bow of the ship. They held hands and kissed for the first time.

Rose took Jack to her suite and asked Jack to draw her wearing only the diamond necklace. Rose came out of her bedroom wearing an exquisite Kimono she then took it off and revealed
