Characterisation: Why does Walter put on his gloves before driving?
The gloves are a symbol of oppression. For Walter when he puts the gloves on, he is back into his normal life, in which he is always bullied. When his gloves are off, he is in his unrealistic world of daydreams.
Cause and Effect: Because as I said in the previous question, the gloves represent his miserable normal life, and when he slips out of them, he is free.
Cause and Effect: He started daydreaming about a hospital because he was driving past one.
Compare and contrast: Compare and contrast mitty’s actual life, in which he worries that he has forgotten what his wife told him, and his fantasy life, in which he is the hero.
