Subject: Abortion in Minors

America has been facing a major ongoing conflict over abortions in minors. Recently with women’s rights, abortion is a national issue with two sides, pro-life and pro-choice. Morals and beliefs go against basic women’s rights given to us, we must understand each side in order to address it.

The ongoing conflict with tax payer’s money going towards operations of abortion has been only been a recent issue, the conflict with abortions for all women has only be around since the 19th century. In the 1800’s abortions were allowed if done before the mother could feel the fetal move, but at this time it was still socially accepted. It wasn’t until the 19th century the states started to pass criminal abortion laws for all women and minors.

People still believed that under certain circumstances abortions were allowed and doctor’s ability to perform these abortions was on the doctor. In the 1960’s The Woman’s Movement started repeal groups and it was during the 1960’s when abortion was widely accepted. The ninth amendment protects person’s right to privacy (A.A.) with the right to regulate abortion in the second trimester.

Now the house is expecting to pass a bill banning tax payer funds for abortion. (M.B.CNN) This would put into law that a ban that included “Each year in annual spending bills that prevent any federal funds to be used for abortion services,” “It bans Americans who qualify for Obama Care subside to purchase health insurance from buying plans that cover abortion services”. (M.B. CNN) The bill bans federal funds that are overseen by congress from using tax dollars to support abortions, but the democratic senate is not expected to take up this bill.

 The war with abortions in general and minors all comes down to what basic women rights you approve of and your own moral beliefs. Tax payers don’t have much say in what their tax money goes to now, but in certain operations such as abortion they should.

A restriction on abortions should be parents need to be notified if the girl is a minor (under 18). Also women who choose to get abortions should attend classes on how to prevent unwanted pregnancies with the father of the fetus. This makes the father take as much as responsibility was the mother, and some pressure off of the mother as well. It will teach how to prevent pregnancy such as contraception before the need to perform an abortion. Sexual education should be put back into the public education system, with the hopeful outcome that future generations will reduce the number of abortions of unwanted pregnancies as a whole.
