Blessed be the Name? /Enough?/Undo?

Today’s devotion is about sin. And to start I really want us to ask ourselves if we’re going to heaven. Not us as a group but you yourself personally. If you died tonight going home from youth group, I would hate if that happened, but let’s just say if you did would you spend the rest of eternity in paradise or would you spend it in hell. Now I want you to really think about it. Maybe you had that one time where you were at lunch and saw that girl slip and fall right outside the bathroom and you laughed or maybe that time when you had the tiny sip of beer at that one party. All of it counts and I don’t think all of us get that. I think a lot of us believe that we will always have time “later”. We think “oh I don’t have to be a Christian now I can make up for it later” I won’t lie I’ve thought that exact thing at times. Well how about if there is not a later? We don’t control our lives. Sure we do have some control, God did give us free will, but most of the time we don’t control when we die. Some of us could live for another 40 years, some maybe only for another week, we don’t know. Sometimes I even think that my “good deeds” will make up for all my bad ones. But that’s not how God works. God writes everything down; every tiny detail-he’s writing your actions down right now, the good and the bad, and not just your actions but your very thoughts as well. I found an essay written by a teenage boy named Brian who died in a car accident a little before he wrote it, but I think he described exactly how all-knowing our God truly is.
