Good Christian character can be built when you have obtained the virtuous traits of a good Christian. First of all you must importantly love God and Jesus and believe that He is your lord and savior. Loving others as you would love God, Jesus, and yourself is also an important step to becoming a good Christian. Christianity is about love, caring, kindness and compassion for others just like God and Jesus has for us. One important goal also to keep in mind is to obtain piety, not false piety but true piety. Some Christians mistake true piety with false piety. Attending church every Sunday is their way of doing pious acts when outside of church they sin and lie. This is an example of false piety. Good piety is achieved when God is your number one priority and you follow His word everyday throughout your lives.
Simply following the Ten Commandments is another way that can help better your Christian character. You most importantly should not worship any other gods besides God. Being only true to our God is showing Him your love and devotion for him. Using his name in vain is also another thing you should not do. God put you on this earth and you should never, ever curse with His name. Well, you shouldn’t curse anyway. It doesn’t show courteousness. Attending church to worship god also shows Him your appreciativeness. He will know if you’re there for the right reasons. Honoring your father and your mother also shows good Christian character. They conceived you and you should be grateful. Killing, adultery, and stealing are all things that should never be committed in anybody’s life. Though it happens all the time, we as Christians should never do it. Respect and courtesy for others are expected. If you follow the Ten Commandments throughout your life, it improves your character greatly.
