Genetic engineering is the process of scientifically changing the body. You can change the body

by increasing reproduction, cloning, and engineering genes. The church is totally against genetic

engineering for the reason that God made all of us different, for a reason. Also, people can be cured when

genes are removed and new ones are added. Finally, there are quite a few animals used such as mice and

goats. For example, two goats were genetically engineered to breed better milk. By cloning and

engineering scientists have found ways to help the body fight diseases. By this method we can in a few

more years rid the earth of disease.

Cloning is the production of a group of genetically identical cells of organisms all descended from

a single individual. The member of a clone have precisely the same characteristics, except when mutation

and environmental caused developmental variation have occurred. Reproduction mode is asexual or

sexual. Some asexual reproduction clones or, bacteria, protozoans, alava, yeasts, some higher plants and

animals such as dandelions and flat worms. Making of a duplicate is performed by taking calls from one

organism and reproducing then into another organism exactly the same as the first. As clones grow they let

bodies develop differently and begin to change because they go through different events in their

environments. Results of cloning can be disease ridding, better plants, and many other things. Cloning can

also make animals and organisms physically stronger and better.

The Catholic Church is against it because they believe that everyone is created different. The

Catholic Church does not want people to take the art of creating human beings into their own hands.

Because if God wanted them to make human beings he would have done it along time ago. So the Catholic

Church believes genetic engineering is wrong and it should never be done.

The Catholic Church wants to stop genetic engineering by protesting and marching down main

streets of major cities. Plus they are demonstrating and walking in circles with signs in front of science

labs to get them to stop testing. Plus they raise funds to try to stop testing. The Catholic Church has made

many people aware of the genetic engineering and now they are starting to do the same things as the

Church.

Several different animals are used in genetic engineering studies. Those animals commonly used

include: mice, goats, rabbits, rats, cattle and pigs. Notice that all of the animals listed are mammals and

this is because mammals' systems are most like humans. Mice are used most often for scientific studies and

experiments. There are many reasons for this. They are small and easy to transport around. They take up

little space and they reproduce rapidly. Many people are against using animals as "guinea pigs" or test

systems. Some scientists agree with this view, but are able to use the animals because they understand that

they
