Do you ever find yourself asking; why do I have a curfew of midnight on the weekends? I know that I do and wish to extend my curfew a couple hours later each night. I will explain how I am responsible enough to stay out later. And how me being older than others is a good reason to have a later curfew, and why not doing the things that other teens do while in high school is also a reason to extend my curfew. There are many reasons why, but I would like to give a couple reasons why I would like for my curfew to be later.
I believe that I am responsible enough to stay out later on the weekends. I stay out of trouble and use all safety precautions that are needed to prevent injury to others and myself. I call my mother every couple of hours to let her know where I am and let her know if I am going to be late coming home. I think that if I were courteous to do that then a few extra hours would be harmless. I also try hard in school and keep my grades at an average level, which has to show that I have responsibility.
Most teens that want later curfews are between the ages of 16 and 18. I am 19 years old and if I were to get into trouble then the problems wouldn’t even be put on my parents, because I am an adult. I believe that I am old enough to make my own decisions and mistakes. I want to be able to stay out later to see my friends and girlfriend because I don’t get to see them that often. If I had a later curfew on the weekends then I would probably stay at home more often during the weekdays. I know that because I am older than others I can make better decisions about the choices I make because
