This article was very interesting to me because I realized now how important is the role of parents in the schools of their children. I did know that parents should be in constant contact with their child’s teacher in how they are doing with their behavior and their academic learning, in order for them to determine if the child merits rewards or punishments at home or if the child needs extra help in a specific subject. Also, according to this article programs for early childhood education should research and take in consideration the environment the child will be exposed. It was very interesting to learn that in early childhood education is very crucial the environment of a school; connections between home and school should exist. Now I understand why some preschool facilities offer such homelike environments.

I never put on much attention on the environment of a school. It didn’t cross through my mind that environment in a school can affect cognitive and social functioning on a child (Silvern 148). This article has provided me information that will benefit me along in my
