Professionalism in Organization
Introduction
I currently reside in kellits, Clarendon, where I lived up to my early teens. The cool, quiet hills of that community has modeled my behaviour and made me what I am today. I say this, to say that it is one of those communities that are self- sufficient, people and religiously oriented and is grounded on the belief, that a community should raise a child.
I consider myself as a person with multiple personality, I am ambitious, considerate, responsible kind but unforgiving, courteous, rebellious at times and sometimes find it difficult to trust others. I do have a good character, I also don’t get upset easily and most importantly I am risk averse
Personality Components
Personality can be defined as the pattern of collective character, behavioral, temperamental, emotional, and mental traits of a person. Character on the other hand, is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. The Two goes together to form the uniqueness of an individual. As for me, I do believe my personality is compatible with my character which should find me very adaptive to the work environment and whatever changes the future. My temperament allows me to be rationale which results in me being risk averse and explore all the possible options available before action is taken. I also pay close attention to details.
Self Concept
The perception of what an individual was in the past, where they are at present and what they might become in the future. The self-concept an individual develops includes:
The Physical Self
This is my perception or description of my physical appearance, which does not involve an evaluative component. I am totally satisfied with physical and spiritual self and do not wish to be someone else.
The Material Self
According to James, this is constituted by: our bodies, clothes, immediate family, and home. If is by these things, that we are the most deeply affected by because of our investments of self within these things. The more we invest of ourselves in these objects, the more attached to them we inevitably are to them. I do not see myself placing extreme value on material things but on things that add value to my social well being.
The Psychological and Emotional self
Psychological self can be seen as the study of either the cognitive or affective representation of one’s identity or subject of experience. The psychological self has many facets and allows me the capacity and the ability to recognize myself as an individual separate from the environment and others. I am better able to demonstrate an overall subjective emotional evaluation of myself. I have acquired self knowledge and constantly seek knowledge that guides the development of my self-concept. The emotional self is regulating the emotions with the ability to respond to the ongoing demands of experience. With all the other facets such as self- awareness, self esteem and self–Knowledge, I am better able to understand my emotional state and seek ways to transform my negative experiences in into stepping stones.
The Social and Ideal Self
Ideal self speaks to how you wish you were, and how you think you should be. It is shaped by your life experiences, messages received from other people about how you should be cultural values and things you admired in role models. The views I hold of my ideal self is attributed to my life experiences. I often think that had I been less trusting and honest, I would not have been a victim of deception. Socially I see it fit to build a network with persons that can motivate me and add value to my development.
Effect of Self Concept on Self- esteem
Being that self-concept is my ability to reflect on my traits, skills and behavior. The effect on my self- esteem would be based on my attitude about myself.
