Racism and diversity
I want to start this writing with “I have a dream” of Martin Luther King speech in Alabama:
“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal." I have a dream that one day the state of Alabama, whose governor's lips are presently dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, will be transformed into a situation where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today.”
It was not so long when hundred thousand people surged on the streets screaming for a better America without racism and racial discrimination. It was the last and the biggest demonstration of black people for the human rights. I refereed that, to remind everyone about the struggles of people with different colour skin to gain their rights. Although black people acquired by law all the rights even white people but the racism didn’t disappear. Even the racism is banned by law since ’69 in USA and in the Europe since 2000 racist tendencies by people never stopped because the human is racist under different circumstances. Racism is not only the bad attitude by people with different colour skin, but it refers also to people that feel superior than others. Keeping the notion that people are racist I want to say that everyone claims to distinct from others or some people claim to avoid his position as victim of racism.
Consequences of racism:
The racism brings racial tension which influences in the economy of the country. Some time in business or the companies doesn’t trait in the same way their employers. Sometime HR’s companies hire personnel in evaluating by citizenship or race. This preconception prevents the economy of a country to go ahead and it puts barriers in free market. Secondly, racism incites the financial, political and social destabilization. If some racist administrators are possessed in the institutions of a country they can provide a racial policy. The institutional racism can bring frustration to the minority group of the country. Furthermore the racism is the worst ally of the riots in a society. Many politicians or ministers promote racial policies with lot of discrimination and the reaction is unavoidable from the racial victims and the country may be turn in really chaos. We can remember the riots in the USA in 1991 when a policeman had beat up a black man. Also in France couple months ago the disorders are more recent incident when minister Sarcozi did a harsh declaration about the immigrants and other desperate people who were in the margin of society. He denounced them for the unemployment in France and he characterized them as scum of society. Everywhere in France it became helter-skelter. The idea of institutional racism suggests that racism pervades all of society’s structures in systematic manner. According to this view institutions promote policies that favour certain groups while discriminating against others.
The reason of racism:
The first factor of racism is prejudice. It is a kind of racism which refers to opinion or attitude held by members of one group towards another. A prejudiced person’s preconceived views are often based hearsay rather on direct evidence and are very difficult to change even in the face of new information.
The absence of critical thinking is another factor of racism. In this case, people are very flexible toward the racist propaganda. Also the racism is based in the ignorance fear ore false pride. The people with low level education convey the racist ideology.
