The Use of 'Values Paradigm' in the Philippines

Most presidents, even President Benigno Aquino III, use the economic paradigm, equating higher GDP to development. For us, using this paradigm is overrated. Most people would think that an economic growth means the escape from poverty.
There are evidences that showed that the Philippines have somehow alleviated poverty because of the increase in its economy. Still, these are not ultimately felt by all Filipinos. We can still see street children, underemployed workers and informal settlers. There is still an unhealthy environment and an increase in crime rates.
Out of all paradigms, we think that the ‘values paradigm’ would best explain the situation of our country. One would not steal money if he/she has moral values. One would not improperly dispose his/her garbage. Or simply, you will not do anything immoral if you have proper values. Corruption
