Purpose of the Project - Details
For a successful implementation of the Pyramid Project, the new project management and tracking system will allow the organization to better identify key business representatives from each business unit within the organization; the new project management and tracking system will allow for better project process management; the new system will also allow the organization to enhance the issue management process by providing a more effective and efficient issue tracking system.
The project management and tracking system will contain a database that houses the following information of all individuals within the organization: start date, job title, job description, previous project involvement, and other skills the individual might have. This functionality that is included in the new system will allow for ease of selecting stakeholders and interested business representatives by allowing the project manager to review the database for job responsibilities and skills that would enhance the quality of the project.
The new project management and tracking system will also enhance the quality of the project by allowing for an enhanced project management process. The new system will enhance the project process, as it will allow for project team members to house all project related documentation in a centralized database that is easily accessible by all team members. This new functionality will be a database that is set up within the electronic mail system and will be accessible to the project team members through links sent out by the project manager. This new functionality will also reduce the electronic mail storage for individual project team members as all of the project related documents will not need to be attached to the electronic mail communications between team members as all of the documentation will be stored within the project database.
In addition to housing all of the project related documentation, the new project management and tracking system will also allow for an easier method of tracking approvals from the project team members. This new process will require sign-off from all stakeholders and some selected interested business representatives.
