In the first place one must make sure that they have all the proper tools required to build the PC. Basic tools that will be needed are: Phillips-head screwdrivers, needle nose pliers, and most importantly an anti-static wrist strap. The ant-static wrist strap is one of the most important tools that will be used because a small static shock that you will barely feel, to the computer it can cause a lot of problems as to even ruining the computer or parts of it.

Next the assembly of the motherboard will be required. The motherboard is often sold with all the components in exception to the CPU. Usually good motherboards to use for a computer would be Inter G31, GMA3100, or AMD 780. The CPU must then be placed on the socket of the motherboard (make sure that the CPU is installed properly as it could short-circuit and damage the motherboard). Installing the CPU cooler would be the next step. While installing the CPU cooler make sure to use thermal paste. The installation of the RAM modules would be the next step. The RAM modules would go on the corresponding slots; the motherboard usually has 2 or 3 slots for RAM modules.

The power supply should be mounted to the case and connect all the connections to the drives and motherboard. The motherboard back plate should be attached to the case and it should coincide with the motherboard once it’s placed onto the case (which is the next step). Next the hard drive should be installed. The hard drive should be placed in the case while also connecting to the motherboard and power supply. Next connect the SATA connectors to the drives and the USB connectors and case switches to the motherboard. Next connect the 20 or 24-pin ATX connector and the 4-pin power supply to the motherboard. The second to last step will be installing and connecting the DVD-ROM Drive to the case and motherboard. With all the parts to a computer finally assembled the case must be closed and we now proceed to installing an operating system of your choice and preference.
