Animal Farm Essay
In the novel Animal Farm, it really doesn’t speak about it but there was that
hidden message about everything. It mainly focus’ on the abuse of power coming from
Napolean that led to his rise and fall and eventually his demise. It talks about taking it
(the power) too far and meeting the demise soon.
As Napolean and Squealer get smarter, everything starts to change. When
Napolean set them (the animals) to work, he had done a real good job at convincing the
animals to keep their hopes up. “Never had the farm appeared to the animals so desirable
a place. As Clover looked down the hillside her eyes filled with tears. If she could have
spoken her thoughts, it would have been to say that this was not what they had aimed at
when they had set themselves years ago to work for the overthrow of the human race.”
(P. 115) But as time passed by Napolean grew mean towards the other animals. “Surely,
he cried indignantly, whisking his tail and skipping from side to side, surely they knew
their beloved Leader, Comrade Napoleon, better than that? (P.115) In this quote, it shows
the animals’ starting to doubt their feelings about Napolean and how he was one of them
because of the rumor that spread about Boxer being taken away with the whole “Horse
Slaughterer” and van debacle. But with Squealer as Napolean’s second hand man,
everything gets taken under control.
As Napolean starts to take more charge, he becomes even more powerful. The
rules start changing. “For once Benjamin consented to break his rule, and he read out
what was written on the wall… ‘All animals are equal but some animals are more equal
then others.’ It shows that in this quote, Napolean start to take advantage of the other
farm animals and begin acting like humans. “And a moment later, out from the door of
the farmhouse came a long file of pigs... all the sheep burst out into a tremendous
bleating of- ’Four legs good, two legs better! Four legs good,
