Today there exists a threat to this great country of ours. America is in dire straights at the hands of a criminal. Our publicly-appointed figurehead has been lying to all of us and has tried to conceal his history from the prying eyes of the American citizens. How did this man slither into presidential candidacy, when his past is riddled with corruption, crime, and deceit?
According to Michael Kranish, Boston Globe, three independent sources close to the Bush family report that Bush was arrested in 1972 for cocaine possession. He was taken to Harris County Jail, but avoided jail or formal charges through an informal diversion plan involving inner city community service. In 1999, reporter Bill Minutaglio of the Dallas Morning News writes that the year of community service was arranged by the Governor's father, ex-president Bush, after he caught Bush Jr. driving drunk.
That year certainly is out of character with the rest of Bush Jr.'s life. Before and after 1972, he was a rich, hard drinking playboy. Suddenly, and only that one time in his life, he worked for a liberal charity in an inner city ghetto. As soon as the year was over, he resumed his previous pattern and has done no charity work since.
Let us not forget the insanity that the Bush administration is responsible for, the war in Iraq. Before considering each of the dozens of individual deceptions, lies and misleading statements that Bush and his aides used to push the US into war in Iraq, let's not lose track of the big picture.
