Caffeine is a naturally grown plant as known as a scientific compound name "xanthine alkaloid" or "guarana." The term guarana, comes from the actually plant, Guarana which is a type of plant to harvest caffeine. In the eyes of many people, caffeine isn't considered a drug but caffeine acts a stimulant in the human brain, targeting the central nervous system as is therefore a stimulant which acts a drug. Caffeine although, can be considered a safe drug if it is not overused. People use caffeine to avoid sleep for example; students sometimes use it for over night studies.Caffeine is in many beverages drunk today such as: coffee, coca cola, tea etc targeting mainly the adult age from 16+.
As mentioned before, caffeine is a stimulant that targets the central nervous system and is considered a drug. The central nervous system is one part of the nervous system of our bodies, responsible for the control of our behavior and performance. With a stimulant such as caffeine, the nervous system's process speeds up resulting in an increase in alertness, speed of thought, focus and overall body co-ordination. Caffeine is a temporary stimulant, so the effects of caffeine ware off in about 3 hours. An average of studies shows that depending on tolerance of caffeine and size, it
takes less than one hour for caffeine to take effect, as well caffeine increases performance by 7% in
