Essay title: Cause and Effect

My Job

To live a fulfilling life you must at one point or another hold a job. A job that will bring in the money while providing yourself with you’re own personal satisfaction. A job can teaches us that it takes work to get what you want in life. While everyone has there own specific preferences and interests which let them go into the field of there choice, some things will never change. A job hopefully gives you a sense of pride in your work, it helps you understand others, and will undoubtedly require a lot of effort and energy.

Pride, we all have it at one point or another but when worked hard for I believe it is earned and is alright at that point. There is nothing wrong with being happy about what you do and how much you make, but here are certain lines that are not made to be crossed, especially when they didn’t work for it. I work at a golf course and when someone asks who put that rock wall in on #3 tee, I’m proud to say it was me. When someone asks the same question and the manager points to my boss who sat back and did nothing and is now taking all the credit is not right. But when the day ends and you’re done with your work it’s a good feeling to go home knowing you did right and will earn that paycheck and your boss knows who really put it in.

I never knew why my cousin, a previous employee, cared so much about the course. I never knew why he would get pissed when someone would run through the bunkers and not rake them. I now understand completely. I had to get up every day this summer at 5:00 A.M to rake all the bunkers, mow tees, and perform other routine tasks on the course. I worked so hard all summer trying to make that course the best I could. I felt that I owned a piece of that course and when people disrespected the course I
