Essay title: College
In today's society, there is a great demand for students to graduate from college so they can get a good paying job. College is supposed to be about getting and expanding your education level. When I started college, I was overwhelmed with the transition from high school to college life. I did not expect that I would have so much freedom, and that when I entered college there were large expectations of me. I thought being a college student would be easy, I imagined it to be just like high school, just with an older crowd. Little did I expect that there would be more difficulties than I had imagined. Having to maintain a full time job, balancing classes, having to make my own school schedule, and buying my own textbooks, if the bookstore has them in stock, was extremely stressful.
One of my first problems, as a college student was having the responsibility to maintain a full time job, to pay for my classes. I found my job with ease. I began working 40 hours during the summer. I thought it was pretty easy, had a lot of extra time. So I thought working and going to school full time would be easy. I would get 2 days of a week anyway, so that would be my time to get homework done. Soon, I was well overwhelmed. I was getting caught behind in my classes, and soon I stopped showing up for classes, because I was either tired from work, or I was at work. My fall semester I ended up dropping out of college, just because I was so overwhelmed with school and work.
When I was told I get to chose my own classes and decide what classes to take, I looked at the schedule book, and had absolutely no clue what I was getting myself into. I had no idea how to register for classes, what classes I needed to transfer with, and most of all how to find my classes. I quickly called my cousin, and asked her so many questions; I began to think she was getting annoyed with me. She explained to me how classes worked, how pirates net would help me register, and I could choose any class I wanted, but would have to make sure that no classes would interfere with each other. It was so hard trying to find the classes I needed, that would be a suitable schedule
