Technology has been rapidly changing our lives since the beginning of time. We are able to pursue dreams and accomplish goals, unimaginable. One of the advances in technology that has made the most dramatic effect in our lives is the computer. The Computer has changed the way we as individuals function in business, education, military, healthcare, and even in our day-by-day life. Computers have assisted with personal and professional storage, word processing, and with use through the internet, eased physical barriers of communication.

Through the use of computers, we are able to store personal and professional data that is important and irreplaceable. There is becoming less of a need for folders and file cabinets. On a personal computer, you are able to save the things you find significant from important documents like term papers and resumes to keepsakes like music, videos and photographs. This is possible through the computers hard drive. The hard drive stores information in a permanent form. They give the computer the ability to “remember things.” This makes storing data and other sources of information easy and paper-free.

Using your computer, you are able to create, edit and print documents in the format of your choice. This is the most common use of all computers. With this tool, typewriters are a thing of the past. No more white-out, the constant use of paper from having to start over, whatever needs fixing can

be done conveniently in a timely way. Using your computer’s word processor, you are enable to create a document, display it on screen, modify anything from your computer’s keyboard and print it on a printer.

Most computers have access or connection to a world-wide resource called the Internet. Being the one thing experiencing the most expansion, it is the fastest growing technology ever. Connecting to the internet, gives you access to worlds of information right at your fingertips. The net is world-wide and transmits data from user
