Essay title: D.A.R.E Essay
Can you imagine a world filled with anger and fear? One with hatred and violence filling the scenery of your every blink? If you can imagine this horrid world at this very moment than you can imagine our world, the world you place your foot in front of the next and the world whose air you breathe by the second. If you can imagine this very world at this very moment than I know there is one question pondering among you thoughts. I know this question, as do I its answer. Drugs, violence, hatred, and anger exist at this very moment and place in time. They occur every day, all day. The thing is though you see it occurring your mind refuses to believe reality. In fact you are confronted with these four adjectives at least four times a day weather you can believe it or not. As you grow older and wiser you may encounter many of these situations taking part in them or even being their cause. Which ever your position may be you should know how to protect yourself and make wise and healthy decisions. The reason for this lies in one four letter word, 'D.A.R.E.'
Throughout D.A.R.E. I have truly become a better person. I can now honestly see I am my leader, I can make wise and healthy decisions and can speak up for what it is I believe. When I graduate high school I wish to graduate Massachutes Institute of Technology (MIT). I wish to be its role model and hold its hand as I guide it to greatness. I realize my dreams will never be fulfilled unless I am a strong person. In order to graduate MIT, I must make clean decisions and treat others with pure respect. Without D.A.R.E., I do not believe any of these things would have ever begun.
Throughout the D.A.R.E. program I have also enhanced my knowledge of drugs and abuse. Using D.A.R.E. decision making model, D for define, A for assess, R for respond, and E for evaluate I have learned to be the change in my life. I remember when it was easy to be in charge. I remember in kindergarten how my response to any threat or unkind comment was, "You're not the boss of me," Then, staying in charge was as easy as stating six simple words with your hands on your hips and a frown on your face. Just about six years after kindergarten staying in charge became a bit more challenging. This challenge grew larger each year. Situations consisting of pressure and challenges can be difficult if you don't know your answer. D.A.R.E. has taught me how to make good choices, and be a good person.
Another thing I have learned throughout D.A.R.E. was that many skills that will both protect and guide me through life. I owe this program my life, for in the future I have no doubt its knowledge I have learned will spare me mine. I am thankful for this program and am sure its assistance will come of
