In one generation Hispanics explored, colonized over half the earth and water. Most historians credit Spain for the total discovery, exploration, and colonization of the western hemisphere. You will find this no where in the history of the human race has this ever occurred.
During the exploration and the colonization of what is now considered the United States the Hispanics established over 200 cities and towns through out the country. During this period which was between 1492 and 1542 approximately 300,000 Spaniards immigrated to what they called the new world.
Since the beginning of time that Hispanics have come to America they have faced many prejudices and racism. Over the years and as new generations come about the Hispanics do make breakthroughs on some of those prejudices but still today the battle is not over.
Some of the discriminations that Hispanics face along with many other minority groups are redlining. Redlining is where a company or corporations redline someone due to their race. This is where Hispanics applications are tossed into a reject bin without even reviewing the application. These applications are usually for home loans, getting insurance, housing assistance or any form of help. There is actually a lawsuit against Chrysler for redlining against minorities including Hispanics. This is where they would just toss the credit application into the reject bin without even reviewing or looking at it.

In reviewing the information double jeopardy is still a very dominate this day in age. The double jeopardy does not only apply to minority groups but also to gender. By gender I mean to women and not to male. The double jeopardy is where minorities and females do not make the some amount of money for a job as a white male. For example a white male will make more money for the same job than a white female. A white female will do the same job and make 30% less than the white male. The minority male will come in a make drastically less than the white male and still less than the white female. The percentage difference is about 50% different from the white male for the same job.
There have been several studies done to show how an employer will always pick a white male or female for a job over someone from a minority group. One way to ensure an employer would pick a new employee according to skill and personality is by using a screen. This test is where the employer places a screen and each applicant comes in behind the screen and takes a seat. The applicant answers the entire questions behind the screen without the employer ever seeing there face. This prevents employers from being prejudice because of race or looks. This ensures that the employer will hire the applicant based on the applicants resume, their skills and the answers giving during the interview.
Hispanics also face institution discrimination this is where there is no health coverage available to the Hispanics.

Hispanics have had to deal with glass ceilings since the beginning of time. Overtime they have broken through those by advancing in companies and corporations. However, still today most white men hold the higher positions in companies and corporations than any other race. Then it is followed by African Americans then Hispanics. So as you can see overtime they have worked thru the barriers but still is have not made it to the top.
The Hispanics have faced environmental justice issues since Mexico had joined with the United States.
