Paris is one of the most visited cities in the world. It is the capital city of France and is the home of the Eiffel tower. Lyon, Marseille and Nantes are some other large cities within France. France’s Neighboring countries consist of; Spain, Italy and Germany.
Agriculture
The top vegetables/grains being produced in France are sugar beets, cereals and oil seeds. Beef and veal are a huge part of Frances meat production. Grapes are huge for agriculture as well, due to the production of wine. As of 2002 the total amount of farm workers was about 745,000 people, 2.7% of the total labour force. The farming population has decreased immensely; however, Farm land takes up about three-fifths of total land. Agriculture in France is extremely important. Frances biggest exports are various types of drinks and alcohol. The value of alcoholic exports reached 56.6 billion in 1999.
Education
France has a range of great universities and colleges. INSA Lyon, the French University of Science and Technology is ranked among the top universities in Europe. Some of the other top schools are; College of France, Ecole Normale and Ecole Polytechnique. In France there are 15 million students within the education system, of the 15 million, only 2 million will have a higher post-secondary education. School here starts very early. Students begin learning at the age of two. Education is the top priority at schools. There is no extra-curricular activity within the school. Therefore students here are extremely educated and prepared for the workforce.
