Essay title: Frankenstein
Little kids for many centuries have heard the name Frankenstein and right away they are frightened and scared away, not knowing what the story of Frankenstein is. Mary Shelley created a monster that by its name anybody knows that is something abnormal from the natural world, me as well, before reading the introduction of the actual novel it petrified me, just the fact that I was going to read a piece of literature that its main character was a monster, and that’s what I got after reading the introduction, Shelley wanted to create a story that petrified every single sole on this universe just by the monster’s name and the story as a whole.
When I was little, I used to watch black and white Frankenstein movies with my dad, and before it started, I would hide behind my dad, because I knew that a horrific monster was going to appear on the T.V. screen. Now in days I’m petrified to any type of scary movie or story. Back in my childhood I used to see Frankenstein as a monster with no mercy for others, that just killed willingness innocent people, strangleling them by their necks and just letting them die. Frankenstein freaked me out because I believed that out of no where he was going to appear behind me and try to kill me or do some kind of abuse towards me.
Before reading the introduction I kind of had an idea of what it was going to be about, but I never thought that Mary Shelley had an actual vision or dream of Frankenstein, even before writing the story. It seems that it was meant to be a story about a monstrous creature seeking revenge by killing people, that just looking at him they are horrified.
Many believed and including myself, that Frankenstein had no reason for killing people. He just killed for no self benefit and no purpose. Until I read the introduction and I realized that the monster wanted to kill his creator because he created him and left him in the dust afterwards.
