Essay title: Gilgimesh

1. Agamemnon, Achilles, and Hector all played the part of heroes, but within their

own personalities and self-struggles. Agamemnon has the dominant trait of leadership. He does things his way without consulting anyone, but he lacks wisdom in his leadership. Achilles on the other hand doesn’t have these leadership skills, but has the brainpower to learn and realize the reality of his situation. Hector has a sense of both traits wrapped in one. Each of the men differ in their strong points, but still carry out the own heroic ways.

2. Odysseus knowledge and wisdom throughout his journey is one of the key factors in Athena’s favor towards him. During the course of the story The Odyssey, Odysseus gains wisdom and uses it in his situation. Athena being the goddess of wisdom grows fond of this growth in him. She sees him for the cunning man he becomes and grows fond of this trait. She spends most of the story trying to help him. His use of his wisdom is what makes him one of her favorite.

3. The events of Telemackus in The Odyssey are use as tools to build the plot and the theme of family loyalty. Telemackus throughout the story stays loyal to his father waiting for his return. His attempts to find the truth of his father’s journey and return help build the plot.
