Essay title: Gofl

Sports are one of the most admired cultures in the United States. A major majority of the nation either watching or participates in the events. Golf is one of several popular activities. This is a game that takes much patience and practice in order to reach an amateur status level.

A golfers first time is always very frustrating. People swinging and missing isn’t unusual at all. The more someone practices and plays, the better they will get, as is the same with all other sports. Many people believe golf is just a sport in which you just hit your ball and chase it. There is much more to golf than that concept. In order to be an advanced golfer you must be patient, know how to use every club, and have confidence in yourself.

The legal amount of clubs that a person can have in their golf bag at any given time is fourteen. This rule is set for higher ranked players so that the competition is fair. Almost all golfers will carry a driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, irons 3 through 9, and a pitching wedge. Those are the basic clubs to a 11 piece set. The driver is used for the first shots, known as the tee-shots, for all the longer holes. As a player gets closer to the hole, they start using their irons. The higher numbered the iron is, the shorter the ball will fly. For example, the 3 iron should be hit around 250 yards, where the 9 iron should be hit around 150 yards for a highly developed male player.
