Essay title: Heaven and Hell
Heaven and Hell
Everyone has a soul. Every soul has a destiny. In the Bible, God explains that every soul will be judged. God warns mankind that during judgment we will receive a one-way ticket to eternity. The Bible also teaches us that during this life we have two choices. We are granted free will to serve and honor God through Jesus Christ who is in Heaven, or we are free moral agents to choose Satan who will reside in Hell. Heaven is good. Hell is evil. The fact that God created mankind’s soul with an eternal destiny should have a significant impact on our choices and priorities. The benefits and splendor of Heaven are greater than the punishments and tortures of Hell.
The Bible describes Hell as a place of darkness, a lake of fire and brimstone. Matthew 25:41, describes Hell as a pit of fire that is prepared for Satan the devil, his demonic cohorts, and the other souls that chose to serve him during the trials of life on earth. The citizens of Hell will be populated with the souls of those who died without accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. These souls will experience the nashing of teeth, endless pain from the tortureous fire, and ultimately eternal death. The citizens of Hell will not reunite with God's presence. The Bible states in Luke 16:19-28, that souls cannot pass from Hell to Heaven or vice versa. Fire is not the only form of eternal punishment. Eternal thirst and great pain are other forms of punishment that will be experienced by the citizens of Hell. Christians believe that the souls in Hell will be able to see the souls that are in Heaven and vice versa. The souls in Hell simply chose a life of sin, non-repentance, and rebellion against God Word. Revelations 20:12-15, states the following: "And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for aeons of aeons."
Once upon a time. Satan the devil was an Angel. Some say that his former position in Heaven was equivalent to a modern day Choir Director. Satan was in charge of leading the praise and worship to God. Satan became greedy for power and led a rebellion to over throw God. Satan was relieved of his duties, and dis-fellowshipped from the Angelic ranks. Satan stated that he could run Heaven better than God. God gave Satan permission to travel throughout the earth to form his following. Mankind quickly fell into the wicked, sinful and rebellious ways of Satan. Thus causing the eternal damnation of Hell.
Satan is portrayed as an evil, lying and tricky individual. He is also described as a red scaley being with a horns growing out of his forehead, and a pitch fork in his hands. His sole motivation for living is to contest God’s headship and destroy the salvation of all that will follow him. Satan is well aware of his date with destiny in Hell. He is currently roaming the earth like a roaring lion, seeking to deceive and devour all that will serve his evil agenda. If you follow Satan, you will go to Hell.
The Bible describes Heaven as place were streets are paved with gold, mansions, and Angels. Heaven is a place of eternal bliss, abundant life, peace and tranquility. Heaven is also a destination were our bodies will never experience any form of sorrow, sickness, pain or death. The Kingdom of Heaven is known as a place were mankind is reunited with God in a perfect state of eternal existence. The citizens of Heaven will be populated with the souls of those who died accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Christians believe this reunion is accomplished through God's grace, mercy, and the redemptive shedding of blood by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, having died for the sins of humanity on the cross, is the only way that mankind can gain the citizenship and the benefits of God in Heaven. We must choose to accept Jesus Christ into our hearts, believe that He is Lord and Savior, and confess our sins if we desire Heaven.
Christians view God as the Holy Trinity; The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The Father, Jehovah God, is the creator and composer of both Heaven, Earth, Man and all that is in between. Jehovah is a God of love, peace, mercy and infinite wisdom. The Son, reverently and affectionately known as Jesus Christ, was placed on earth as a propituation for our sins. Jesus Christ was there during the creation of man, and the creation of the universe. God chose to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to save man from permenant self destruction. God gave Jesus earthly parents. They are Joseph and Mary. Mary was a virgin and had never experienced relations with a man. God injected Mary with a seed to form a child (Jesus). Jesus was born in a manger, grew up, and walked the earth with mankind. His assignment from God
