Information management is essential to any company in order gather, organize and distribute information to support business performance. To run a smooth operation we must keep track of delivery times, profits, sales and customer service comments.
To effectively begin to run a business you need to start with a managerial accounting system. Every department manager needs to be able to keep track of projects, make decisions, and plan for the future. When the company begins to expand we can begin to look into a financial accounting system as well. A financial accounting system is more concerned with external users which would include consumer groups, stockholders, and government agencies. The reason managerial accounting is more important at the start up of a business is because it requires all managers to be involved in all aspects of the business it requires the managers to be involved in all aspects of the business and it requires the managers to set performance goals to be achieved in a timely manner.
