Seeing how it takes spiders quite some time to catch a fly or two they can go for days without eating a single thing because spiders have slow metabolisms. When food is present though spiders can consume in large amounts. Many spiders can devour prey their own size or smaller. When the insect attaches itself to the sticky web the spider will sense its presence through the sensors on its feet. The spider will then wrap its prey in the silk substance so it won’t be able to escape and then suck the insides of the victim. Then later the spider will digest its food and have enough energy for the next victim and not weigh down its web. “Spiders are the only animals to digest their food on the out side of their bodies. The gut of the spider is behind its stomach, and part of it goes into the front legs. This lets the spiders to live for days without eating”.
Web spinning is a main part of a web-spinning spider. Some
