Essay title: Islamic

For one to understand the Islamic world, one needs to interpret the way that society perceives women. The behavior in which Islamic culture convey to women reveals much about how the society is structured and how it relates to other issues such as basic human rights. Women are the beneficiary of family honor. The reasons for this are culture, authority, and fear.

Culture is a major issue that affects Muslim women today. Women are prohibited to do anything that may seem immodest. They are obligated to wear traditional clothing that covers them completely. In some cases, they are not well educated because of the fact that it makes them argumentative and they become unmarriageable. For instance, Maria’s father took her out of school because “her father’s friends had been advising him that education of girls was a bad thing.” Muslim men show no consideration towards their women. For example, they believe women are brought into this world to give sons and obey their every request. Islamic culture has a major impact on how women are suppose to dress. In that Islamic world, women are required to veil after they reach puberty or get their menstrual. For instance, Maria and Jan dressed the shalwar kamez way each time they left their home.
