This book has been written in order to tell the next generation how the author has reached the much rivaled position he holds in the retail sector and also to help them understanding the importance of having dreams. This book covers the life story of Kishore Biyani, that is, how he, a simple boy from a trading family became the top retailer in India. He is not just telling the story from his side but also shares the experiences of people who have been closely associated with him at some point in his life.
In the beginning, he describes one of their marketing strategies – “SABSE SASTA DIN”, used to attract customers at Big Bazaar, and slowly moves on to describe Kishore Biyani’s family background and just lightly touches the topic of his childhood, and quickly shifting to his experiences and attempts at organizing groups & at business in the early days of his student life, also revisiting his early days when he had just started his career. In the book he has not only described his successes but also pointed out many of his own faults and some of his major failures in life and how he learnt a valuable lesson from every mistake he made and then further improved himself as a person and an entrepreneur.
One of the major achievements during his student life was when he along with a team of his family and friends started a dandiya fest, in their locality compound which turned out to be a shockingly successful event and increased his popularity ten folds. In the book, he also describes how he made his entrepreneurial debut outside his family business, withstanding lots of ridicule and demotivating conversations with his family.
