Essay title: Jasmine Chapter 27

I arrived with Taylor and Duff on the lawn of our new home in Los Angeles, California. The change in scenery contrasts to that of Baden, but it’s something I can definitely adjust too. Having to adjust to new environments is something I’ve grown to be familiar with. Taylor begins to stare into my eyes and reluctantly asks, “What do you think? Is it too much?” I responded with a smile. The two-story four bedroom house with a spacious backyard was an ideal setting to raise a family and was an upgrade to anything I had experienced.

We proceeded in through the stained glass double doors, as Taylor opens the door the sight of total emptiness shocks me as I realize I’m embarking on a new journey and I’m prepared to start a new chapter of my life with Taylor and Duff cordially involved. Duff wandered carelessly through the house but who could blame her? All of us we’re starting fresh. Taylor carried our bags into our bedroom and the first thing that caught my eye was a window shade. That brought back memories of New York where I first met Taylor and Duff and the time I enjoyed with Duff. Taylor hesitantly asked, “Do you want the shade down? I can pull it down for you.” I remained silent and went over to pull the shade down myself. My silence began to make Taylor feel uneasy and his facial reactions gave it away. A perplexed Taylor left the room to attend to Duff and help her unpack.

I sequentially unpacked my suitcases alone in the room. The emptiness of the room soon engulfed me into a state of disbelief and I thought to myself whether or not this would be the last time I changed location. That very thought, at first, somewhat frightened me but I didn’t it give two thoughts later. As I went on carelessly unpacking my belongings I accidentally pricked my finger on a thumbtack that was randomly placed there. My finger began to bleed. The blood slowly dripping out reminded me of when I murdered Half-Face. I ran my finger under cold water until the wound stopped bleeding.

Duff ran into the room followed by Taylor. Her facial expression brought joy to me. I said to Taylor, “I’m just fine dear, sorry to trouble you.” Words I knew that would ease Taylor away from whatever troubled him. We asked Duff to return to her room. Taylor had brought up the topic of employment and asked what I was interested in. I knew in my head I should take this opportunity, as Los Angeles is filled with them, to pursue further in becoming a doctor and opening my own clinic. A dream, ever since I revealed it to Masterji back in India, I keep close to my heart. Taylor advised I take classes while holding a small job on the side, if I pleased. My main concern was taking care of Duff, so I was content with staying at home, for now He made it clear that he would take upon most of the work load and take care of mostly everything financially so I can carry out my lifelong dream.

Taylor and I we’re eager to experience the lifestyle around here so we decided to take a walk through the neighborhood down to the main street where everything was, groceries, restaurants, and so forth. There we’re tons of people
