Establishment 1: Happy Hounds.

Happy Hounds is a commercial boarding kennels run by Kay Palmer. It has been in operation for four years. Customers pay to board their dogs here while they are going on holidays, or moving, or for a number of other reasons.

Establishment 2: D.S.P.C.A.

The D.S.P.C.A is a charity run animal sanctuary. They rescue dogs, among other animals, that have been abused, injured or abandoned. They rehabilitate and care for the dogs until they can find them a new home. They are not a commercial organisation. Any fees they charge for rehoming the dogs are to cover vaccinations, microchipping and any other veterinary procedures that have been carried out on the dogs.

Happy Hounds offers 12 kennels on its premises. Each kennel holds one dog, unless two dogs from the same household are boarding. They may be put into one kennel if the owner wishes and if the dogs get on well.

Establishment 2: D.S.P.C.A.

The D.S.P.C.A has 22 large kennels on it's premises. Most of these kennels house one large adult dog. They can house up to three small adult dogs and up to eight puppies at a time, depending on their size.

Key Comparisons

The two Kennels that I have chosen to compare are very different. The main difference being that Happy Hounds is a commercial kennels and the D.S.P.C.A. is a charity run organisation. Because of this major difference, it is obvious that each establishment is going to be run very differently.
