Essay title: Macbeth Hero
The Fallen Hero
The fallen hero to me refers to the classic tragic hero in the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare. A tragic hero in Shakespeare’s time was to be considered as someone who once held a great position but due to lust for greed and power, they fall to a tragic end. I feel like I have two very great examples of a Tragic Hero, Scar from The Lion King and Macbeth from the play Macbeth.
Scar, from the movie The Lion King, is a great example of a tragic hero. In this movie Scar plays the uncle of Simba and the brother of Mufasa. He would be next in line for the thrown to be king of the jungle but Simba was born. So ever since that moment Scar has been nothing but evil. He first starts turning bad when Simba turns to his uncle for some advice on the Kingdom that he will once rule. Simba asks what is really beyond their Kingdom and Scar acts like there is nothing wrong with going to the elephant graveyard. So when Simba travels to the graveyard without permission he gets into trouble with some not so friendly hyenas. When it looks like all is done with Simba the mighty king of the jungle comes and saves the day, and Scar could have helped but he just sat and watched Simba almost die. The next part of Scar turning bad was when he is walking with Simba in the valley and he tells him that his dad wants to see him. Scar tells Simba to wait here on the rocks and work on his roar. But Scar was planning to send a pack of wild antelope down to run over the tinny cub. So when Mufasa hears of the news that Simba is in danger he quickly hurries to save him. When Mufasa finally saves his boy he is having trouble getting to safety himself. So when he gets to the top of the rock Scar is there and Mufasa asks for Scar to help but instead Scar throws his own brother off the cliff to his death and tells Simba that it is his fault that the king has died and he should run away. So as a young cub, Simba, runs away from the kingdom and Scar gets the thrown. Under Scar the kingdom is going to the hell, there is no water of food and the animals are starting to leave Pride Rock. When Simba is older he comes back to over throw Scar for his rightful spot as the king. At the end Scar is left for died and the hyenas that helped him get the thrown turned on him and killed him.
Another tragic hero is Macbeth, from the Play Macbeth. He was a good guy, brave and loyal to the king. But he gets caught up in the prophecy that he will be king. When Macbeth
