Martin Luther King, Jr.’s father, grandfather, great grandfather, his only brother, father’s brother was a preacher. Martin Luther King, Jr. is famous for the Civil Rights Movement and “I Have a Dream” speech, which influenced leaders and storytellers in society. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.(King 1)
King was born at noon Tuesday in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929. King’s parents was Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr. and Alberta Williams King. King has 5 siblings. King has an older sister named Willie Christine and a younger brother named Alfred Daniel.
King went to several schools when he was young. King skipped ninth and twelfth grade in high school without graduating. Then, King enter Morehouse College at age fifteen. We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.(King 3)
When King was 19, he was ordained to the Baptist ministry. King’s first and only job he had was a minister.
King married Coretta Scott in Marion, Alabama on June 18, 1953. The ceremony took place on Scott’s parents lawn. Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr. performed service, Mrs. King’s sister was the maid of honor, and King’s brother, Rev. A.D. King, was the best man. During, their years together they had 4 children named Yolanda Denise, Martin Luther III, Dexter Scott, and Bernice Albertine.
