Essay title: Matts Story
Drug abuse affects one in every six teenagers. One in ten of these are affected mentally by this exploitation and one in five of those die.
These are the facts.
And this is the story to prove it.
Matt’s story started on the 25th of September 2003. This is the day Matt first tried the drug Marijuana. Unfortunately, that one invitation to experiment led Matt on a slow descent into habitual marijuana use. This day, was the day Matt gave his life away.
Exactly 2 years after this date, Matt met Kate. Matt instantly fell for Kate, something about her goodness and probably her gullibility. Little did they both know, they would change each others lives forever.
It took Kate over 3 months to realise the person she thought she loved was a drug addict. Kate had been played for a fool, Matt had, had several run in’s with the police during this time and many mood swings, often resulting in violence towards Kate or others.
Kate pushed Matt into rehab shortly after, vowing to stand by him. After 2 short weeks in rehab, Matt was released; a new person with new life goals or so Kate was lead to believe. Matt continued to hide his abuse and deny he had a problem. Kate incessantly pleaded with Matt to quit this habit. Some days it even came down to her or the drugs, but one day after a fight Kate left Matt breaking her vow to him and unknowingly walking out of his life for good.
A few days later Kate sat talking to her mum, when the phone rang. It was Matt’s mum.
Matt was dead due to drug overdose.
Just like that.
This is what he left Kate;
Kate,
You may think I’m heartless and cold and maybe I am. You can’t love me, because I won’t let you, you can’t care for me because I don’t want
