Essay title: My Experience
My experience
It all began last year. My friends and I were big partiers and we didn’t
really take life seriously. My best friend CARA, experienced it the most. She was
always overwhelmed with the extreme pressure from her family, to be very smart,
with reflecting grades, and a perfect GPA.
She started seeing this guy and they got pretty close. After a couple
months of dating, they decided they should have sex. About a month later, she
called me on the phone and had some pretty unexpected news. She was
pregnant. Her boyfriend was a bad ass and I knew that he wouldn’t stay with her
once he found out. She was in tears and couldn’t stop worrying about what her
parents would think.
Well she kept it hidden a couple more weeks, then decided to tell her
boyfriend. I was right. He dipped out when times got rough and only agreed to
stay with her if she would get an abortion. That wasn’t on her mind. If anything
were to happen, she wouldn’t get an abortion.
So when it was time to tell her parents, they didn’t exactly deal with it the
way that I had thought. They threw her out and told her to never come back. She
was hysterical. I came and picked her up at the corner seven-eleven. She looked
awful, her mascara was smeared across her cheeks and her eyes puffy and red,
she picked up her red suitcases and started for our car.
The ride was completely silent, like time was stopped and everything
seemed like from that moment on, nothing could ever get better. The next day we
stayed home from school, as we had a meeting with my mom to figure out what
was the future step we had to make. We came to a conclusion that she had to
stay with us, at least until the baby was born. We would let her stay in one of the
guest rooms and take care of her while we both going to school.
Rumor got around and before you know she was called the slut and she
got released from the cheerleading squad. She felt completely hurt. There was a
part of me that wanted to take all the humiliation for her, but the best I could do
was try my best to make her feel at home with me and try to help her see a
brighter future.
The year got better and we started buying baby clothes and helping her
get ready for the baby. Our closest friends threw her a huge baby shower at my
house. It was so beautiful. The whole room decorated with pink ribbons and
present for CARA. We had been all very close before, getting ready for parties
together and dances. I could tell that lately in the past she felt left out, not being
able to really anywhere, without being ridiculed, but it was different that day, with
all of us together again.
She had really changed my life, being my room mate. It was neat always
having
