My Mother, My Hero
There are many people in our society today that we can look to as a hero. Then again why look at people on television, or people who are in our government when a real hero is right in front of you. To me, my mother is my hero, and in many ways I can illustrate to you why she is my ideal hero.
In a typical dictionary a hero means remarkably brave person, somebody who commits an act of remarkable bravery or who has shown an admirable quality such as great courage or strength of character; or somebody who is admired for outstanding qualities or achievements. In other words a hero is someone who stands above the rest and their actions will inspire you to do something better with your own life. I know for a fact that my mother has had this impact on me.
In my mothers life she has had it pretty dreadful. My mother was born with a disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa; an inherited disorder of the eye involving progressive disintegration of the retina and optic nerve and leading eventually to tunnel vision or inability to see.
