Essay title: Oedipus

Oedipus

When Oedipus is first shown, his appearance is quite elegant. He walks out from his

castle and is dressed in a white suit that shines brighter than the sun itself. Toward the

end right after he takes his own sight, he is dressed in nothing more than rags. In the

beginning of the story Oedipus' words are that of encouragement when he is talking to

his people. As the story goes on and he is finding little bit by little about his past,

Oedipus becomes threatening with his words. A man who knows about where

Oedipus came from is threatened with death by the king himself if he does not give

up the information he has. King Oedipus is very motivated when it comes to his

past. Oedipus keeps asking question after question wanting to get to the truth.

Even when the queen pleads with him to stop his crusade for the truth, Oedipus

does not listen. Even the elders try and talk some sense into poor Oedipus, but

he is just too motivated to quit. His personality at first is that of a true noble

king. Talking to the peasants and common folk at the beginning of the story.

Treating them like they were on the same level as he was. He is a happy king
