The dissection of the fetal pig in the laboratory is important because pigs and humans have the same level of metabolism and have similar organs and systems. Also, fetal pigs are relatively inexpensive.

Our pig was 13 inches long and measured from its nose to the it’s tail. I broke both of its arms and legs when I put it on it’s back to pin it down because that was the only way it would work. While on it’s back the pig had several nipples and the stomach was a grayish whitish color. The pig also had little white hairs all over it’s body.
