PPFA has been serving many American communities for the past 90 years. Planned Parenthood has 860 affiliate health centers all across the country and the biggest organization to improve women’s health and safety, prevent unintended pregnancies, and advance the right and ability of individuals and families to make informed and responsible choices. Planned Parenthood affiliates provide sexual and reproductive health care, education, and information to five million women, men, and adolescents worldwide each year. This clinical agency wants their patients to feel comfortable by providing safe, caring, confidential and affordable services. Planned Parenthood is a State and Federal funded and also by private donations and grants. There are three different Planned Parenthood clinic locations in San Jose.
Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is located on The Alameda in San Jose, California. It consists of one clinical office and three administrative offices. The mission of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is to ensure that every individual has the knowledge, opportunity, and freedom to make every child a wanted child and every family a healthy family. They offer services to many people in the San Jose community and even San Jose State University Students. Planned Parenthood Mar Monte gives community members of all ages and backgrounds the information they need to make educated, responsible decisions about their health and sexuality by providing a culturally sensitive, bilingual outreach, education and counseling programs. They also offer a wide range of clinical services that include: Colposcopy, Sterilization – Male, Sexually Transmitted Infection Testing & Treatment, Primary Care Services, Prenatal Care, Pregnancy Testing and Counseling, Pediatrics, Menopause/Midlife Services, Male Health Services, HIV/AIDS Testing and Counseling, Emergency Contraception (EC), Cancer Screening (Pap Test), Breast Exam, Birth Control: Pills, Condoms, Depo-Provera, etc., Vaginal Infection Testing & Treatment, Annual Exam, Well Child Care, Urinary Tract Infection Diagnosis and Treatment, Diabetes Screening, Immunizations, Abortion Services – Medical, Abortion Services – Surgical and Physicals.
