Essay title: Rock Show
The Rock Show
I went to a rock show last Saturday with one of my friends in one of the bands that were playing there that night. He told me it was a late show and I would be able to make it there after work. I figured it was only six dollars, and I already liked the bands, so why not?
So I walked in to the building on Saturday, and was immediately surprised at how small the room was. The first thing I noticed the atmosphere was very loud and smelled like pizza and smoke. My friend was in the back with the rest of his band, waiting for the show to start. The first band got on the stage and started playing and suddenly I realized that I had forgotten to bring earplugs! I decided to just tough it out and just listen to the rest of the show, and just try to stay away from the speakers. The first band, I found out, was a small two-man heavy-metal band. I was watching them rock out and they were really good, especially as, it was just a drummer, and a guitarist, who also was taking care of vocals. The next band that came on was more of an Indie, or punk, band, but what they were missing in noise they made up in energy. They were one of the craziest bands I’ve ever seen, but their music just wasn’t my thing. Part of their set was that they had strobe lights on their amps and it created a very different visual atmosphere with all the flashing lights, and finally a few people started match the band’s energy.
